Hyundai's 2025 Sales Dip Amid Global Challenges
Hyundai, a big car company from South Korea, sold a tiny bit fewer cars in 2025 than the year before.
They sold about 4.14 million cars in total.
While they sold more cars in South Korea, they sold fewer cars in other countries.
This happened because it's been harder to sell cars in other countries, especially because of new rules in the US that make it more expensive to import cars and affect electric vehicle sales.
In the US, car sales actually went up by 2% in 2025, even though there were a lot of changes and problems in the car industry.
People bought more gas-powered trucks, SUVs, and hybrids.
But electric cars had a tough year because of changes in rules and taxes.
Hyundai is hoping to sell even more cars in 2026 by making more eco-friendly cars and opening new factories.
In December 2025, they sold a bit fewer cars than the year before, but still did well in South Korea.
Hyundai Motor's global sales fell 0.1% in 2025 to 4,138,180 vehicles.
Domestic sales in South Korea rose 1.1% to 712,954 units, while overseas sales declined 0.3% to 3,425,226 units.
The company launched new models like the Palisade SUV and Ioniq 9 electric SUV.
Hyundai aims to sell 4,158,300 vehicles in 2026, with plans to introduce more eco-friendly models.
In December 2025, Hyundai's sales slipped 0.6% to 328,393 units, with domestic sales at 62,666 units and overseas sales at 265,727 units.
