Telangana Minister Opposes Movie Ticket Hikes
The Telangana government has decided not to allow movie ticket prices to increase.
The minister said that producers should not ask for higher prices because actors are already paid a lot.
The head of the exhibitors' association said that high ticket prices have made people stop going to theatres, and many theatres are losing money.
He suggested that ticket prices should be lower, between Rs 100 and Rs 200, so that more people can afford to watch movies.
He also said that higher ticket prices do not help theatres make more money.
Some theatres have even closed because not enough people are coming to watch movies.
Telangana Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy opposes movie ticket price hikes in the state.
Vijayender Reddy, president of the Telangana Controllers and Exhibitors Association, welcomes the government's decision and highlights the negative impact of high ticket prices on theatre attendance.
High ticket prices have led to poor attendance, theatre losses, and show cancellations.
Vijayender Reddy suggests fixing ticket prices between Rs 100 to Rs 200 or Rs 75 to Rs 175 for two classes.
Higher ticket prices do not benefit exhibitors as their earnings remain the same despite increased collections.
