MCC Constitutes PwBD Appellate Boards for NEET UG Counselling 2026
NEET UG Counselling 2026: MCC Sets Up PwBD Appellate Boards Following Supreme Court Directions; Check Centres & Appeal Process · freepressjournal.in

NEET is a big exam in India that students take if they want to become doctors.

Some students with disabilities are allowed to get special help when they apply for medical college under a special 5 per cent reservation.

A group called the Medical Counselling Committee makes sure this process is fair.

The committee told these students to read some new rules about how disability is measured.

Special doctor teams, called Disability Assessment Boards, check how much disability a student has.

Sixty-five of these teams work across India and can give certificates saying a student qualifies for the reservation.

Five senior teams in big cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, Chennai, and Kolkata handle appeals.

If a student is told they do not qualify, they can email one of the five senior teams to ask for a second check.

The senior team's answer is final and decides if the student gets the special reservation for medical college admission.
