KLO Chief Urges Rajbanshi Community to Vote Out TMC, Revives Statehood Demand
A leader of a group called the KLO, named Jeevan Singh, put out a video asking people from the Rajbanshi community to not vote for the current ruling party in West Bengal, the Trinamool Congress, in the next big election.
He wants them to vote them out.
He also wants current politicians who are part of the ruling party to leave it.
Jeevan Singh says the ruling party and its leader, Mamata Banerjee, have been against creating a new state called Kamtapur.
He believes they have been unfair to the Rajbanshi people.
The KLO wants this new state to include areas from West Bengal and some other nearby places in India and even Nepal.
The KLO has pushed for this idea before, even using protests in the past.
KLO chief Jeevan Singh released a video message urging the Rajbanshi community to vote against the Trinamool Congress in the 2026 West Bengal elections.
Singh also appealed to TMC legislators and MPs to sever ties with the ruling party and lead the effort to remove the Mamata Banerjee-led government.
The KLO chief claimed that the West Bengal Chief Minister has opposed the creation of a separate Kamtapur state and that ruling party leaders have oppressed the Rajbanshi people.
The Rajbanshi community holds significant influence in several North Bengal constituencies.
The KLO's proposed Kamtapur state would comprise districts from West Bengal, Assam, Bihar, and Nepal.
