Supreme Court Flags 45-Year Delay in Jharkhand Murder Case

Supreme Court Flags 45-Year Delay in Jharkhand Murder Case

The Supreme Court reviewed a double-murder case from Jharkhand.

The case had taken 45 years.

The judges said the crime was very serious.

But they also said they could not ignore what the accused had experienced during that long period.

The Court noted that the petitioner was in poor health.

The State had said he was admitted to a hospital while still in custody.

The Court suspended his sentence.

It ordered his release as long as he did not commit another crime while on bail and provided personal surety.
