Haveri Launches AI Traffic Monitoring System

Haveri Launches AI Traffic Monitoring System

The Haveri Police have introduced a new AI-based traffic monitoring system called ITMS.

This system uses special cameras with AI technology to detect traffic violations like not wearing a helmet, using a phone while driving, and not wearing a seat belt.

The cameras can read the number plates of vehicles and send electronic penalty notices to the owners.

The system will start with cameras at three locations and will be expanded later.

The police will first educate people about the new system for a week before starting to issue fines.

The project costs Rs 52.63 lakh and aims to make the roads safer and reduce the need for police to stop vehicles manually.
