Bengal Governor and TMC MP Clash Over Election Process Allegations
The Governor of West Bengal and a Member of Parliament (MP) from the ruling party are in a heated argument.
The Governor believes it's important to review voter lists to make elections fair.
But the MP accused the Governor of helping bad guys from a rival political party, saying they are hiding in the Governor's official home with weapons.
The Governor's office says these claims are untrue and is looking into taking legal action against the MP.
The MP, in turn, called the Governor a puppet of another political party and threatened to report him to the police if he says anything false.
Both sides are standing firm, and it's becoming a major political fight in the state.
West Bengal Governor C. V. Ananda Bose and TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee are in a volatile confrontation.
The clash began after Bose defended the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls as essential for cleaning the election process.
Banerjee accused Bose of sheltering 'BJP criminals' inside Raj Bhavan and arming them, calling him a 'BJP agent'.
Raj Bhavan is seeking legal opinion against Banerjee for his comments and plans to write to the Lok Sabha Speaker for an inquiry.
