High Court Seeks Punjab DGP's Affidavit on Advocate Attacks
The Punjab and Haryana High Court is not happy with how fast the police are solving crimes against lawyers and their families in Punjab.
They told the top police officer to write a special report explaining what's happening.
There are three big cases: one where a lawyer's wife was killed, another where a lawyer's house was robbed, and a third where gold was stolen.
The court is okay with how Chandigarh Police are doing but wants Punjab Police to do better.
They want the police to find the bad guys and get back the stolen things.
The court will check on this again on February 13.
Punjab and Haryana High Court expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of investigation into attacks on advocates and crimes against their family members in Punjab.
The court directed the Punjab DGP to file a fresh status report with an affidavit on the next date of hearing.
Three incidents were discussed: the murder of K K Goyal's wife, a theft case involving Vishal Handa, and another theft linked to an advocate.
The court was informed that in Goyal’s case, all accused had been arrested but the investigation was incomplete and some stolen property was untraced.
The court expressed concern over the lack of progress in the Punjab cases and directed the Punjab DGP to submit a detailed status report.
