Bengaluru Metro Yellow Line Adds Train, Shortening Wait Times
Imagine a long line of people waiting for a bus.
Now imagine the bus comes less often, making people wait a long time.
The Yellow Line in Bengaluru, India, was having this problem.
It has a metro, like a fast bus, but the trains were spaced out too far.
More trains were needed to make the wait times shorter.
The new trainset will undergo trials before entering service in mid-October.
This should make trains come more often, around every 15 minutes, and help the busy commuters.
The trains use special technology that could allow trains to run closer together, but for now, a driver will be in control.
The Yellow Line in Bengaluru received its fifth trainset to reduce waiting times.
The Yellow Line runs from R.V. Road to Bommasandra.
The new trainset was manufactured by Titagarh Rail Systems.
The new trainset is expected to run every 15 minutes.
The Yellow Line uses Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) technology.
