ICG Launches New Pollution Control Vessel to Safeguard Seas
The Indian Coast Guard is getting a new boat called Samudra Prachet to help clean up the ocean.
This boat is designed to find and collect oil spills, which can harm sea animals and plants.
It has special arms that can scoop up oil while the boat is moving and a radar to spot the spills.
This new boat is part of India's plan to protect its coasts and marine life from pollution.
It was built by an Indian company and uses mostly Indian-made parts, helping India become more self-sufficient.
Goa Shipyard Limited launched the second Pollution Control Vessel (PCV) for the Indian Coast Guard.
The vessel, Samudra Prachet, is designed to protect marine ecosystems from pollution.
It features side arms for collecting oil spills and a radar to detect oil slicks.
The vessel is 114.5 meters long, 16.5 meters wide, and displaces 4170 tonnes.
