Poland Offers India Role in €44 Billion EU Defence Drive

Poland and India want to work more closely on defence and security.

They are discussing making drones and anti-drone equipment together in India.

They are also considering producing satellites that can watch for security threats.

Poland wants Indian companies to join projects connected to a large European Union defence programme.

The countries may also cooperate on cyber safety, ports and underwater cables.

Poland says some products could be made in either country and sold elsewhere.

India’s foreign minister, S. Jaishankar, is expected to visit Poland next week.

The two countries also hope to increase their trade to $10 billion each year within four years.
