PIB Debunks Viral Video Claiming Indian Helicopter Shot Down in Kashmir
Imagine someone shared a video online pretending it was from today, showing a helicopter crash.
But, the news helpers called PIB checked and found out the video is actually from a long time ago, from 2019.
It was from an accident where an Indian helicopter crashed, and sadly, everyone on board passed away.
Some people in Pakistan are sharing this old video to make it look like something new happened, trying to spread fake news and make India look bad.
PIB wants everyone to know that this video is not real for today's news and is being used unfairly.
PIB has debunked a viral video shared by Pakistani accounts claiming an Indian Mi-17 helicopter was recently shot down in Kashmir.
The fact check revealed the video is six years old and pertains to a 2019 Mi-17 V5 helicopter crash near Budgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
The 2019 incident resulted in the death of all six Indian Air Force personnel on board.
PIB stated such fake content is circulated to create panic, spread misinformation, and malign India's image.
This is part of a pattern where Pakistan-based networks run disinformation campaigns, especially after sensitive developments.
