Modi’s Viksit Bharat Vision Sets India’s 2047 Ambition

Narendra Modi has proposed making India a developed country by 2047.

He calls this plan Viksit Bharat, which means developed India.

The year 2047 will mark 100 years since India became independent.

Modi also asked citizens to follow five important pledges.

These include respecting India’s heritage, avoiding a colonial mindset, protecting national unity, and acting responsibly as citizens.

NITI Aayog says India would need much higher incomes and a $30 trillion economy to reach the goal.

The economy would need to grow by at least 7% each year for many years.

The article says this will be difficult because the world has faced the effects of COVID-19, economic slowdowns, trade upheavals, and recession fears.
