₹1,000 and ₹100 Commemorative Coins To Be Released
The Indian government is releasing special coins.
One is a ₹1,000 coin to remember a past emperor's sea trips.
The other is a ₹100 coin for a religious leader's birthday.
These coins are made of silver and look like regular coins, but you can't use them to buy things everywhere.
They are special collectibles to celebrate important people and events.
You can get them from certain places, even though they are money.
The Indian government will release two commemorative coins: ₹1,000 and ₹100.
The ₹1,000 coin celebrates 1,000 years of Emperor Rajendra Chola – I's naval expedition.
The ₹100 coin commemorates the 105th birth anniversary of Acharya Shri Mahapragya.
Both coins will be made of pure silver, circular, and 44 mm in diameter with 200 serrations.
Commemorative coins are legal tender but not for general circulation; they can be sourced from specified agencies.
