Delhi H1N1 Cases Prompt Emergency Review Amid 3,000 Infections

Delhi has reported many cases of influenza, including a large number of H1N1 cases, also called swine flu.

Several reports give the H1N1 total as 2,308, while one live update gives a lower figure of more than 1,777.

Because cases are increasing, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta called an emergency health review.

Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh said hospitals have enough doctors, medicines and beds.

He also said isolation wards are available in every hospital.

Officials said people should not panic because patients are being treated.

People were advised to keep their hands and surroundings clean, avoid crowded places and seek help for serious symptoms.

High fever, breathing trouble, chest pain, confusion or worsening symptoms can require quick medical attention.
