IUCAA's First Woman Professor Highlighted in Nature

Professor Debarati Chatterjee is the first woman to become a full professor at IUCAA, a big deal in a field where women are rare.

She was featured in the famous science journal Nature for her work in understanding neutron stars and her efforts to encourage more women to join science.

She believes that women face many challenges in science, especially in areas like theoretical physics, and she wants to change that.

Chatterjee also works to make science more popular and accessible to everyone, especially young students.

She started events like the Pint of Science festival in India, where scientists share their work in fun, relaxed settings.

Her goal is to show that science is exciting and to help students discover different career paths beyond the usual choices like IT and medicine.
