Hindustan Copper to Invest Rs 2,000 Crore in Mining Expansion
Imagine a company called HCL that digs up copper.
They're going to spend a lot of money, about 2,000 crore rupees, to dig up even more copper over the next few years!
Most of this money will go to their biggest copper mine.
They want to dig up three times more copper than they do now!
They're also partnering with another company to open mines in another state.
This is happening because India needs more copper for things like buildings and cars.
Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) plans to invest Rs 2,000 crore over 5-6 years.
The investment will expand mining operations, mainly at the Malanjkhand Copper Project (MCP).
HCL aims to triple its ore production capacity to 12.2 MTPA by FY2030-31.
The capex excludes the Rakha and Chapri mines in Jharkhand, which are under a PPP model.
HCL recorded its highest-ever revenue of Rs 2,071 crore and profit before tax of Rs 634 crore in FY25.
