Adani Green Expands Battery Storage
Adani Green Energy is building bigger battery storage systems in Gujarat.
They plan to have over 7 times more storage by the end of the next financial year.
This will help them store extra solar power and sell it when prices are high.
Right now, they can't send all the power they make because of problems with the power lines.
The batteries will help until the power lines are fixed.
They are spending a lot of money, between ₹25,000 and ₹40,000 crore, to build these batteries.
They already have the money they need to do this.
Additionally, they have started a new solar power project that adds to their total renewable energy capacity.
The company is also dealing with some legal issues in the US, but they say it doesn't affect their business.
Adani Green plans to expand BESS capacity to over 7 GWh by FY27, more than doubling the current 3.5 GWh.
The expansion is driven by grid augmentation delays at the Khavda renewable energy park in Gujarat.
Battery storage will help absorb power that would otherwise be curtailed due to grid constraints.
The company expects to realize better revenue by dispatching stored solar energy during peak pricing hours.
Adani Green projects a capital expenditure of ₹25,000–₹40,000 crore for the next financial year, with funding already secured.
Adani Green's subsidiary operationalised a 50 MW solar power project at Khavda, increasing total renewable generation capacity to 17,287.2 MW.
The company's Q3 net profit crashed 99% to Rs 5 crore, while total income and EBITDA rose.
Adani Green shares are down 15% on Friday, with a market cap of Rs 1.27 lakh crore.
The US SEC has filed a motion for service by alternative methods, but Adani Green states it is not a party to these proceedings and no charges have been brought against the company.
