Tribal Leader Seeks 10% Political Reservation in Andhra Pradesh

A tribal leader named Vadithya Shankar Naik wants more tribal people to be elected to local government in Andhra Pradesh.

He is asking for 10% of political positions to be reserved for tribal communities.

The current reservation in local bodies is 6%, and he says it has problems that need to be fixed.

He believes tribal communities do not have enough elected representatives compared with their share of the population.

He mentioned positions in villages, mandals and districts.

Naik said political representation is a constitutional right.

He said the campaign would continue peacefully and democratically.

He also wants to build awareness among tribal communities across the state.
