Political Leaders Clash Ahead of BMC Elections
Asaduddin Owaisi, the leader of AIMIM, spoke at a rally in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
He questioned the role of the RSS in India's fight for independence, saying that the founder of RSS, K B Hedgewar, was not jailed for opposing the British but for supporting the Khilafat movement.
Owaisi also criticized the BJP for talking about Bangladeshi migrants to distract from their failures.
He encouraged people to vote in the upcoming municipal elections.
Another leader, Imtiaz Jaleel, challenged the Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, saying that if AIMIM is wiped out in the elections, he will shave his beard.
But if not, Shinde should be ready to shave his.
On the other hand, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that the administration of the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will be overhauled after the elections.
He denied any move to have two municipal corporations for Mumbai and promised a transparent and corruption-free civic administration.
Fadnavis also revealed plans to step up the campaign to identify and deport Rohingyas and illegal immigrants from Bangladesh.
He expressed confidence in the Mahayuti alliance's victory in the BMC elections and promised to install a Hindu Marathi mayor.
He also criticized Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray, saying they have no brand value and their parties have no presence beyond Mumbai and Nashik city.
Fadnavis highlighted the BJP's development agenda and the potential for employment in the region.
He also denied allegations of the BJP's state president paying obeisance to a Muslim leader, stating that the person was a spiritual leader of Sindhis.
The political leaders are making promises and criticizing each other ahead of the BMC elections.
Asaduddin Owaisi questioned the RSS's role in India's freedom struggle, alleging that founder K B Hedgewar was jailed for supporting the Khilafat movement, not opposing British rule.
Owaisi criticized the BJP for using the narrative of Bangladeshi migrants to push their Hindutva agenda and distract from governance failures.
Devendra Fadnavis promised to overhaul the administration of the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) after the elections and install a Hindu Marathi mayor.
Fadnavis revealed plans to step up the campaign to identify and deport Rohingyas and illegal immigrants from Bangladesh using an AI-based method.
Fadnavis expressed confidence in the Mahayuti alliance's victory in the BMC elections and criticized Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray for having no brand value and presence beyond Mumbai and Nashik city.
