Aasif Malbari Sets Godrej Consumer Growth Cleanup Plan

Aasif Malbari is the new leader of Godrej Consumer Products.

He says the company has grown, but not as quickly or profitably as it should have.

He wants to improve important older brands such as Godrej No.1, Cinthol and Good Knight.

The company will invest ₹200 crore in a new research and development facility.

It also plans to keep less stock in shops and use better tools to predict demand.

Malbari says the company needs to execute its plans better, especially for fragrances and the Park Avenue brand.

He still supports newer products such as Rizz, Zap and Ninja pet food.

Ninja pet food currently has a ₹10 crore annual run rate and is targeted to reach nearly ₹50 crore by the end of the fiscal year.

Analysts see potential for improvement but remain cautious because former CEO Sudhir Sitapati left unexpectedly.
