Sri Lanka Prison Riots Kill Three, Injure 23 in Overcrowding
In the country of Sri Lanka, some people who were staying in jail started fighting and causing big trouble.
The trouble happened at different prisons around the same time.
Sadly, three prisoners were hurt so badly that they died, and more than 20 other people were hurt too.
Police and special teams came to stop the fighting and bring everyone back to their rooms.
At one prison, the police used tear gas to calm the prisoners down.
One big reason for the trouble is that the jails are far too crowded.
They were built for about 11,000 people, but more than 41,000 people are staying in them.
Most of these people are still waiting for a judge to decide what will happen to them.
The minister in charge said the trouble may have been planned on purpose, but an investigation is still looking into it.
The country also wants to make courts faster so fewer people have to wait in crowded jails.
