CIC Orders Removal of Abandoned RTI Portal
The Central Information Commission (CIC) has noticed that many people who want information from the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) are sending their requests to the wrong website.
This website was accidentally opened by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) and is no longer being used.
Because of this, people are not getting answers to their questions.
The CIC has told the CGHS to fix this problem by removing the old website and moving all the pending requests to the correct website.
The CGHS has said that some of the information people asked for does not belong to them and that they only received the requests after the CIC sent notices.
RTI applications for CGHS are being filed on an abandoned portal opened by the DoPT.
The CIC issued an advisory to remove the abandoned portal and transfer pending applications.
CGHS stated that some information sought does not pertain to them.
The issue was noticed after the CIC issued hearing notices.
The CGHS has been advised to consult with the DoPT to resolve the issue.
