Republic Day Non-Veg Sales Bans
In India, two places had different rules about selling meat and fish on Republic Day.
In one place, Koraput, the leader first said no one could sell meat or fish, but then they changed their mind and said it was okay.
In another place, Vijayawada, the city leaders said all meat shops and fish markets had to close for the day.
They said this was to keep the day special and follow the rules.
People who didn't follow the rules in Vijayawada could get in trouble.
District Magistrate of Koraput initially ordered a ban on non-vegetarian food sales on Republic Day, but later revoked it.
Vijayawada Municipal Corporation ordered a one-day closure of all slaughterhouses, meat shops, and fish markets on Republic Day.
