Delhi Schools to Form Fee Panels by January 10
The Delhi government has passed a new law to make sure school fees are fair and clear.
All schools in Delhi must create special committees by January 10, 2025.
These committees will include teachers, parents, and school leaders.
They will look at school fees and decide if any changes are needed.
Schools must send their fee plans to these committees by January 25, 2025.
The committees have 30 days to make a decision.
If they don't, a higher-level committee will review the fees.
This new law is part of Delhi's efforts to make education fair and affordable for all students.
All schools in Delhi must form School Level Fee Fixation Committees (SLFFC) by January 10, 2025, under the Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Act, 2025.
Each SLFFC will have 11 members, including representatives from school management, the principal, teachers, and parents.
Schools must submit their fee proposals to the SLFFC by January 25, 2025, and the committee must decide within 30 days.
If the SLFFC fails to decide within 30 days, the matter will be automatically referred to the District Level Fee Appellate Committee (DLFAC) for review.
The new law aims to ensure fairness, accountability, and equal opportunities for students while preventing arbitrary fee hikes.
