Bombay High Court Grants Interim Relief to Sameer Wankhede
The Bombay High Court decided to protect a former NCB officer named Sameer Wankhede from being asked questions about two drug cases.
Wankhede said the NCB was unfairly targeting him because of past arrests he made.
The court said he could not be questioned until they finish hearing his case.
The NCB says the investigations are based on real complaints, not politics.
Wankhede also has another case with the CBI about money he allegedly demanded.
The court gave him temporary protection in that case too.
The judges who made the decision are Ajay Gadkari and Kamal Khata.
This means Wankhede can keep working without being questioned for now.
The court will decide the final outcome later.
Bombay High Court granted interim relief to former NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede, preventing questioning in departmental enquiries.
Wankhede challenged NCB notices alleging irregularities in two drug cases, including the investigation linked to actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
NCB maintains the enquiries were based on two non‑anonymous complaints, while Wankhede claims a political vendetta after arresting Aryan Khan and Sameer Khan.
Wankhede has previously faced a CBI case for allegedly demanding Rs 25 crore to avoid framing Aryan Khan, and he secured interim protection in that case as well.
The High Court bench of Justices Ajay Gadkari and Kamal Khata admitted the petition and ordered no coercive steps until the case is decided.
