UK and France strike IS arms cache in Syria
The United Kingdom and France worked together to bomb a place in Syria where they thought the Islamic State group was hiding weapons.
They used special planes and smart bombs to target tunnels leading to the weapons storage.
The area was empty of people, so no civilians were hurt.
The UK said the attack was successful, and all their planes came back safely.
This was done to stop the Islamic State from becoming strong again in the Middle East.
The UK also said that their planes keep flying over Syria to make sure the Islamic State doesn't come back.
The UK's defence leader thanked the soldiers for their hard work and bravery.
UK and France conducted a joint airstrike on a suspected underground arms cache in Syria.
The target was located in mountains north of Palmyra and was believed to be used by Islamic State.
Typhoon FGR4 combat jets and Paveway IV guided bombs were used in the operation.
The area was confirmed to be devoid of civilian habitation before the attack.
Initial assessments indicate the target was successfully engaged and all aircraft returned safely.
