Bihar CM Announces Women-Only University, Solar Plan for JeeViKA Homes
Bihar plans to build a university only for women.
Women would study and work there, including as teachers and the Vice-Chancellor.
The Chief Minister said the university could help women get more chances in education and leadership.
The announcement was made at an event in Patna.
The government also plans to put solar panels on the homes of 10 lakh JeeViKA Didis by March 31 next year.
This is expected to reduce electricity costs and may create opportunities to earn money.
At the event, Rs 600 crore was sent to women under an employment scheme, and loans were given to 10,000 people.
The government also discussed women’s job reservations, scholarships, transport programs and an anti-intoxicant campaign.
It congratulated 7,376 women selected for nursing jobs and highlighted a PhD fellowship for female students.
