Turkey Delays Apache Helicopter Delivery to India
Imagine a big airplane was carrying some super cool toy helicopters for the Indian Army.
The plane took off from America, but when it tried to fly over a country called Turkey, Turkey said 'no entry!'
So, the plane had to wait for a long time and then fly all the way back to America without delivering the helicopters.
This happened earlier this month, delaying the new helicopters for the Indian Army.
The Indian Army already has some of these helicopters, and more were supposed to be delivered soon.
This is like a package being stuck because one country didn't let the delivery truck pass through.
Turkey reportedly denied airspace clearance for an Antonov transport aircraft carrying the last three Apache attack helicopters for the Indian Army.
The transport aircraft was en route from the US to India, with a refueling stop in the UK.
After waiting approximately eight days, the aircraft returned to the US without completing the delivery.
Boeing had previously delivered the first batch of three Army Apache helicopters in July.
The Indian Army's Apache helicopters were scheduled for delivery beginning in 2024, following an earlier contract for six units.
