Tripura Aims for Potato Self-Sufficiency by 2028-29
Tripura is working hard to grow enough potatoes for everyone in the state!
The government wants Tripura to be able to grow all the potatoes it needs by the year 2028.
They're also hoping that they can start selling extra potatoes to other places by 2029.
The Agriculture Minister, Ratan Lal Nath, said they are trying new things, like using special potato seeds.
The goal is for Tripura to not need to buy potatoes from other states anymore and maybe even sell their potatoes to other places.
Tripura aims to be self-sufficient in potato production by 2028-29.
The state intends to export potatoes by 2029-30, after meeting local needs.
