Trump Demands Compensation From Iran Amid War Damages Claims
The United States and Iran have been fighting for about five months.
Now they are talking about becoming peaceful again.
Iran wants the United States to pay money for the damage the war caused in Iran.
When countries pay money to fix harm they caused, it is called compensation.
The American President, Donald Trump, heard about Iran's request.
He said that if Iran asks for money, the United States will ask for money too.
He wants Iran to pay for many people who were hurt or killed in attacks over many years, like the attack on the USS Cole.
Trump told the people working for him to bring up this request in every future meeting between the two countries.
US President Donald Trump has demanded compensation from Iran as part of future peace negotiations.
Iran has been seeking compensation for damage suffered during the last five months of war.
Trump said Iran's compensation request was 'never mentioned' in negotiations with the US.
His counter-demand covers decades of attacks attributed to Iran, including roadside bombs associated with General Soleimani and the USS Cole bombing.
Trump said payments should go to families of protesters killed over the last 50 years and the 52,000 others killed in the last five months.
