Jadavpur University Halts JELET Admissions for 2023
Jadavpur University has decided not to admit students through the Joint Entrance Lateral Entry Test (JELET) this year.
This test is usually taken by students with engineering diplomas or BSc degrees who want to join the second year of a BTech program.
The university couldn't hold the admissions because the JELET exams were delayed, and the second-year BTech students are about to take their exams.
Additionally, the first-year BTech classes started late due to issues with OBC reservations.
The university wants to make sure that if they admit new students, they can finish their classes on time.
The JEE board, which conducts the JELET, hasn't announced new exam dates yet.
The higher education department has been informed about this decision.
Jadavpur University will not admit students through JELET in 2023 due to exam delays.
JELET is for diploma holders or BSc graduates seeking entry into the second year of BTech programs.
The delay is caused by the late start of first-year BTech classes and pending JELET exams.
The university aims to avoid academic disruptions and ensure timely completion of classes.
The JEE board has not yet announced revised dates for the JELET exams.
