Delhi's Green Action Plan 2025-26 Exceeds Targets
Delhi's Green Action Plan for 2025-26 is almost over, and many groups in the city have been planting lots of trees, shrubs, and bamboo.
The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) planted the most, even more than they planned to.
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) was next, but they didn't quite reach their goal.
Other groups like the Public Works Department and the Education Department did really well, but some, like the Forest Department, didn't plant as many as they hoped.
Overall, they planted about 76% of the trees they wanted to.
Some groups also gave away free saplings, but not as many as they planned.
The goal was to make Delhi greener, and many groups worked together to make it happen.
Delhi's Green Action Plan 2025-26 aimed to plant 70.82 lakh trees, shrubs, and bamboo hedges.
NDMC planted 22.7 lakh, exceeding its target of 11 lakh by 11.7 lakh.
DDA planted 7.63 lakh, achieving 64% of its 12 lakh target.
The Forest Department planted only 1.09 lakh, achieving just 7% of its 15.3 lakh target.
Overall, 53.71 lakh plantations were implemented, achieving 76% of the target.
