NCDRC Rejects Claim Over Missed Women’s T20 World Cup Trip

NCDRC Rejects Claim Over Missed Women’s T20 World Cup Trip

A man won a contest that promised a trip to watch a cricket final in the West Indies.

He could not go because he did not get a visa.

He said the fantasy cricket company should pay him because it had helped with the visa process.

The company said the contest rules made the winner responsible for getting the visa.

It also said only the embassy could decide whether to grant one.

The company later offered him another cricket trip, but he did not accept it.

Two lower consumer commissions had ordered the company to pay him about Rs 2.05 lakh.

The national consumer commission overturned those decisions.

It said helping with a visa application did not mean the company had promised to obtain the visa.
