Delhi HC Suspends Sengar's Life Sentence in Unnao Rape Case
The Delhi High Court has temporarily stopped the life sentence of Kuldeep Singh Sengar, a former politician, who was found guilty of raping a young girl in 2017.
He is now allowed to be free while his appeal is being considered, but he has to follow strict rules.
He must stay in Delhi, not go near the victim's home, and report to the police every week.
If he breaks these rules, he will go back to jail.
The court also said that if his appeal fails, he will have to serve the rest of his sentence.
Sengar was also found guilty in another case related to the death of the victim's father and is serving a 10-year sentence for that.
The victim and her family are very scared and have been protesting against this decision.
They feel that this decision is unfair and makes them feel unsafe.
