Hingoli Farmers End Well Protest After Officials’ Assurances

Farmers in Hingoli held a serious protest to highlight problems with farming services.

They entered a well in Taktoda village as part of a protest called “Jalsamadhi.”

They said the local agriculture officer’s position was vacant.

They also claimed that fake fertiliser and pesticides were being sold.

According to them, some soybean seeds did not grow, so farmers had to sow them again.

The farmers also complained about being harassed by contractual workers.

Government officials visited and listened to their concerns.

The protest ended after officials promised to address the complaints.
