Dixon Technologies and Gemtek Form Optical Transceiver Manufacturing JV
Dixon Technologies and Gemtek have agreed to start a business together in India.
The new business will make parts that help carry information through optical networks, along with other telecom products.
It will operate through Dixon Electroconnect, a Dixon subsidiary.
Dixon is set to own 60% of the venture, while Gemtek will own 40%.
Dixon will choose three members of its five-person board, and Gemtek will choose two.
The companies say their combined manufacturing and technology skills will help serve demand from data centres and communications networks.
The deal is expected to be completed by February 3, 2027.
Dixon Technologies India Ltd signed a joint venture agreement with Gemtek Technology Co to manufacture optical transceivers and other telecom products in India.
The business will operate through Dixon Electroconnect Pvt Ltd, currently a wholly owned subsidiary of Dixon Technologies.
After completion, Dixon will own 60% of the joint venture and Gemtek 40%; neither company will hold a direct equity stake in the other.
The venture plans to make SFP optical transceivers, BOSA units and other telecom products for the Indian market.
The transaction is expected to be completed by February 3, 2027, and the JV board will have three Dixon nominees and two Gemtek nominees.
