India Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on Vietnamese Steel
India, a major steel producer, has placed an extra tax on certain steel coming from Vietnam.
This tax, called an anti-dumping duty, is because cheap Vietnamese steel was harming Indian steel companies.
The government looked into the situation and decided to help the local steel industry.
The tax is specifically for hot-rolled flat steel products.
This is a follow up of a temporary tax that was put in place earlier to protect local market and make sure Indian steel companies can compete fairly.
