Nellore Police Seize 6 kg Ganja in Surprise Lodge Checks
Police in Nellore, India, did a surprise check on many hotels and lodges.
They wanted to make sure these places were safe and not being used for bad things.
During one check at a lodge, they found and took away 6 kilograms of a drug called ganja.
They also caught six people with the drug.
The police looked at all the paperwork for these places and checked if they had security cameras.
Many places didn't have all their safety papers or working cameras.
The police told the places to fix these problems and warned that more checks will happen.
People are also asked to tell the police if they see anything suspicious.
Nellore district police conducted surprise inspections at various accommodation facilities across the district.
During a late-night raid in Santapeta, police seized 6 kg of ganja and detained six individuals.
A total of 77 special teams were deployed for the district-wide operation, checking records, licenses, and CCTV footage.
Inspections revealed numerous violations, including a lack of valid fire NOCs, GST registration, and functional CCTV cameras in many establishments.
SP Dr Ajita Vajendla instructed legal action against violators and emphasized the mandatory installation of CCTV cameras, with similar checks to continue.
