Karnataka BJP Chief Demands CBI Probe Into Hanur Shootout

Three people suspected of poaching were killed during a forest patrol in Hanur.

The incident happened on August 15 at about 5:30 in the morning.

The patrol team was attached to the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary.

Karnataka BJP president B.Y. Vijayendra says the case should be investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

He believes this would make the investigation more independent.

He also wants the families of the people who died to receive ₹1 crore each.

Vijayendra has accused the government of failing to answer serious questions about the shooting.

He also wants to know where Mahimadas, who escaped, is located.

The article does not include a response from the State Government or Forest Minister Ramalinga Reddy.
