GST Collection Rises Nearly 15% To About Rs 2 Lakh

India collected about Rs 2 lakh crore in GST.

GST is money collected from taxes on goods and services.

The net amount collected was Rs 1.68 lakh crore.

This net amount was 8.3% higher than during the same period last year.

EY India said the figures showed that people were continuing to spend and that more businesses were following tax rules.

Collections also increased in several states and regions outside India’s traditional industrial centers.

This suggests that economic activity may be spreading to more parts of the country.

The upcoming festive season could lead to even higher collections as people spend more.
