Delhi Court Grants Probation in 2013 Stabbing Case

A Delhi court decided that two men should not go to jail right now for a 2013 stabbing case.

The men had been convicted of hurting and stopping another man.

The victim was stabbed with a screwdriver and hit with a stone, but his injuries were described as simple.

A lower court had sentenced each man to six months in jail.

The judge said the case had continued for nearly 13 years.

He said jail after such a long delay would not help much.

Instead, the men will remain on probation for one year.

They must pay the victim compensation and promise to behave peacefully, or they could still serve the six-month sentences.
