Odisha Extends VGF Support for International Flights
The Odisha government has decided to continue giving money to help two international flights from Bhubaneswar for another six months.
These flights go to Dubai and Singapore.
The government is doing this because fewer people are flying on these routes, and they want to make sure the flights don't stop.
The total cost for this support is about ₹26.87 crore.
Additionally, the government approved a big new factory project by the Kalyani Group, which will cost ₹17,250 crore and create many jobs.
This factory will make things for cars, airplanes, and defense.
The government will check how well the flights are doing and decide if they need more help later.
Odisha Cabinet approved the continuation of VGF support for Bhubaneswar-Dubai and Bhubaneswar-Singapore routes for six months.
Total VGF support for the two routes is estimated at ₹26.87 crore, funded under the B-MAAN scheme.
The decision aims to stabilize international routes due to a decline in passenger load factor.
The Cabinet also approved a ₹17,250 crore investment by Kalyani Group for an integrated manufacturing complex in Dhenkanal district.
The new project is expected to generate over 4,800 direct and 5,500 indirect jobs.
