Indian Man Jailed in UK for Groping Minor on British Airways Flight
A man from India named Javed was flying from Mumbai to London on a British Airways plane.
While the girl next to him was sleeping, he touched her inappropriately.
The girl woke up crying and told the flight attendants.
When he was caught, he said he thought she was his wife, but the judge didn't believe him.
The judge decided that even though Javed had been waiting a long time in the UK and couldn't see his family, he still had to go to jail for 21 months because it's important to keep children safe.
Javed cried during the court case.
Javed Inamdar, an Indian national, has been sentenced to 21 months in prison in the UK.
The sentencing is for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl on a British Airways flight from Mumbai to London.
The incident occurred on December 14, 2024, while the victim was sleeping.
Inamdar, a married executive with children, claimed he mistook the girl for his wife, a defense rejected by the judge.
The judge highlighted the duty to protect young girls while acknowledging Inamdar's time spent on conditional bail.
