11 Booked Over Alleged Fraud in Gurugram Street-Light Project
Officials in Haryana are investigating a street-light project in Sohna.

The Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau registered a case against 11 people over alleged irregularities in a Rs 4.87-crore Sohna street-light project.
Those booked include a former chief engineer, a power-department SDO, two former Sohna Municipal Council secretaries, and three contractors.
Investigators allege contracts were awarded in violation of rules and beyond the contractors’ licensed capacity.
A preliminary inquiry found lighting materials were purchased at prices 20 to 25 per cent above prevailing market rates.
The alleged initial loss exceeds Rs 80 lakh, which the ACB will verify through a detailed document-based investigation.
