PMK Condemns Halted Tamil Nadu LPG Connections, Higher Prices

Anbumani Ramadoss said people in Tamil Nadu are having trouble getting new cooking-gas connections.

He alleged that applications have been waiting since June.

He said the oil companies blamed the situation on the Gulf war.

Instead of regular connections, applicants are reportedly offered two smaller cylinders.

These cylinders may cost up to Rs 9,250 in total.

Ramadoss said this is much more expensive than the price paid by existing customers.

He asked the companies to resume regular connections.

He also suggested a lower temporary price for people who can prove they need the gas for home use.
