Iran Seeks Peace, Won't Abandon Nuclear Program Under Threat
Iran's leader, President Pezeshkian, said that his country wants to be friends with the world and live in peace.
He also said that Iran will keep its nuclear and missile programs because they are important for protecting themselves.
He explained that Iran is open to talking with other countries, but not if other countries tell them they can't have these programs or else they will be attacked.
This comes after President Trump mentioned that Iran has asked if the U.S. could remove the difficult rules, called sanctions, that make it hard for Iran to do business.
The U.S. has put these sanctions on Iran because they don't want Iran to build nuclear weapons.
Iran wants peace but not if it means giving up their defense or being bossed around.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated Iran seeks peace but will not abandon its nuclear and missile programs.
Pezeshkian affirmed that Iran is willing to hold talks under international frameworks.
He stipulated that discussions are unacceptable if Iran is threatened with bombing for maintaining its nuclear science or missile defense.
President Trump previously stated that Iran had inquired about the lifting of U.S. sanctions against the country.
