Puducherry Seeks Continued Power Allocation from Centre
Imagine Puducherry needs lots of electricity, but it doesn't make much itself.
The government asked the central government for extra power, like borrowing from a friend.
They got 105 MW until May.
Now, they want to keep getting that extra power until September.
They also asked for more power in the future and are working on making their power system better by building new stations and getting power from other places.
They hope this helps keep the lights on and everything running smoothly!
Puducherry requested the Centre to extend the 105 MW power allocation until September.
The request was made to Union Minister for Power Manohar Lal Khattar.
The Union Territory currently has no significant power generation of its own.
Puducherry's total load transfer capability from the Southern Grid is 540 MW.
