Serum Institute and DNDi Partner on Affordable Dengue Treatment
Imagine a bad bug called dengue that makes people very sick.
Scientists are working hard to create medicine to fight it.
The Serum Institute of India and DNDi are teaming up.
They will develop a special medicine (monoclonal antibody) to treat dengue.
They will do big tests called Phase III trials to make sure the medicine works well and is safe.
These tests will happen in countries where dengue is common, like India and Brazil.
The goal is to make this medicine affordable so that lots of people can get it, especially in places with less money.
This is important because dengue cases are increasing.
Serum Institute of India (SII) and DNDi partner to develop a dengue treatment.
The partnership will focus on clinical development of a monoclonal antibody treatment.
Phase III clinical trials will be conducted in India and other dengue-endemic countries.
SII will manufacture and provide clinical supplies of the antibody.
The goal is to make treatment affordable and accessible in low- and middle-income countries.
