Telangana relaxes TDR norms to boost Hyderabad realty sector

Telangana relaxes TDR norms to boost Hyderabad realty sector

The government of Telangana made a new rule to help people who build houses and apartments.

When builders make tall buildings, they used to have to give the city some of the space they built.

This rule is called TDR, which means Transferable Development Rights.

Before, builders had to give 10% of the space in buildings that were taller than 10 floors.

Now, buildings that are 10 to 20 floors only have to give 3%, and buildings taller than 20 floors give 5%.

Builders also used to have to give all the space at once, but now they can give half when they start building and the rest when the building is finished.

Using these rights helps builders add development potential without buying more land.

Land and building costs in Hyderabad keep going up, which makes homes expensive.

Experts say this new rule helps builders save money, so housing prices may stay within reach for middle-class families.
